The Indian Air Force's MiG-21 fighter jet has completed its last operational flight from the Nal Air Force Base in Bikaner, concluding 62 years of service. The Russian-origin aircraft was inducted in the 1960s and has been described as the "backbone of the Indian Air Force for the past 60 years plus." The aircraft is now set to be officially retired, or 'number plated'. As a symbolic farewell to the iconic jet, Marshal A.P. Singh undertook a solo sortie on the 26th of September.
