Prima Marketing Watercolor Confections: The Classics Review, Affordable Art Supplies 1

In this video I reviewed the Prima Marketing Prima Watercolor Confections. I review the set called The Classics but the conclusions should be the same across all three sets. This set contains 12 half pan watercolor paints that are numbered 1 through 12 and are identified only by a number. The paints can be found for anywhere from $12 to $25 USD. I paid $12.98 on Amazon Prime (link below).

The paints arrive in a good quality metal tin and are individually wrapped to resemble candies. When I unwrapped the paints they appeared chalky and low quality but when I actually painted with them I was impressed by the very good quality pigments used. I got the best results by placing a drop of water in each pan prior to use and allowing it to sit for a few seconds. This softens the paints and makes it easier to lift the paints from the pans. The paints then deposit a stronger color. These paints are prefect for crafters, adult coloring books and projects that will not be in direct sunlight.

This Prima Marketing The Classics set also good for people trying out watercolors for the first time and uncertain this they want to continue with the medium. When you are done with the paints you can refill them with the upcoming refills or with artist grade paints.

Although these paints are labeled as "artist quality" they are distinctly student quality however that's not a bad thing. You are getting a great quality product at an exceptional price. Personally my only regret is that I didn't get two.
