The World Championships of Shoe Shining brings together some of the best shoe shiners from around the world to compete live at the London Super Trunk Show.

At the 2025 event, held on May 10 on London’s Regent Street, three finalists were given a pair of Bridlen Straight Tip Oxfords and just 20 minutes to achieve the highest possible mirror shine. Working only with Saphir Médaille d'Or waxes, brushes, and cloths, they showcased their skill, speed, and attention to detail as the judges looked on.
Meet the Finalists:

Ryu Niita (Japan) – Representing Brift H

Atsuhiro Yoshidomi (Japan) – From Boston & Re Olds

Mathew (United Kingdom) – Known as Mr. Bull & Shine

Each finalist brought a unique philosophy to the brush and cloth, transforming ordinary leather into works of art that speak to patience, skill, and devotion to craft.

With every swipe, every buff, and every layer, these artisans demonstrated why shoe shining is more than maintenance—it is artistry. Watch to see their techniques in action, and experience the mastery for yourself.
