Dr. Thorsten Jelinek offers an interesting and rather philosophic perspective on AI at the digital conference The Future of AI & Big Data Analytics.

Dr. Jelinek is the Europe director and senior fellow at the Taihe Institute, a leading public-policy think-tank. He is also an affiliated researcher at the University of Cambridge and a member of the advisory board of the OECD’s Trust in Business initiative. Thorsten focuses on ethical, governance, and regulatory questions concerning artificial intelligence, digitalization, privacy, and cybersecurity. In this capacity, he has contributed to the United Nations’ High-level Panel on Digital Cooperation and the Multistakeholder Advisory Group of the Internet Governance Forum. He is also a recurring member of the T20, writing policy recommendations that are presented to the G20. Prior to his current role he was associate director at the World Economic Forum and worked for many years in the technology industry. Thorsten holds a PhD in sociology from the University of Cambridge, an MSc in organizational psychology from the London School of Economics, and a German Diploma in software engineering and business administration.
