Node graph activation is a key mechanic in my compiler / node graph editor. It is what allows a user to combine different functionalities without having to deal with an explosion of complexity in the frontend of their nodes. It's also a feature that appears to not be available in all major node graph editors out there! So join me on this (for now) last exploration into compiler fundamentals, before we voyage back into the complexities of lowest level development.
