WHAT IS BHMS?
BHMS or Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery is an undergraduate academic degree course which covers medical knowledge of the homeopathic system. BHMS course is of 5 and half years which include 4 and half years of study followed by 1 year of internship.

Eligibility Conditions?
The minimum eligibility for pursuing BHMS is 10+2 from an approved educational board with Biology/ Chemistry/ Physics/ English as the major subjects, with an aggregate score of at least 50% or above.
The minimum age limit for the BHMS program is usually 17 years for the general category and due relaxation for reserved category (i.e. SC/ST/OBC) is given

Required Skills?
Homeopathy doctors require a unique set of skills to best serve their patients, some of which are inherent and others which can be learned.
• Ability to explain complex ideas easily and using logical reasoning ability to identify the strengths/weaknesses of alternative solutions.
• Building and developing excellent relationships with patients and must have interest in promoting natural health and being proficient in homeopathic remedies.
• Strong verbal and listening skills, an open mind, and willingness to learn so that they can work efficiently as a part of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

How to get Admission in BHMS Course?
There are two ways of getting admission into the BHMS programme offered by various colleges/universities i.e. one by direct admissions and the other one by entrance-based admission.
In many colleges, admission to BHMS course is made on the basis of the candidate’s marks secured in the 10+2 examination.
Where as most of the reputed homeopathic colleges admits candidates on the basis of performance in college/state-level entrance exam. Whereas, some colleges conduct group discussion or personal interview rounds as a part of the selection process.
