Lefkada, Greece | LEFKADA TOWN - Walking Tour - Marina, Old Town, Castle and Monastery

Lefkada or Lefkas Town is the capital of the island of Lefkada. When visiting the town feels bigger and offers more than one would assume. The marina is simply huge. The island is clearly a paradise for boat owners.

Besides the marina and it's cozy cafés we will walk through the old town and see another side of Lefkada.

Depending on the way you go, you might pass by the Lefkada Windmills as well. If so, you can spend 10 minutes to have a look. But it's not really that special.

The Paralia Agios Ioannis beach was probably alright. But does not meet the otherwise high standard of the other beaches on the island.

Faneromeni Monastery was quite the surprise. It is beautifully maintained, has great toilet facilities and a small zoo for deers, birds etc.

We are not missing out on Agia Mavra Fort either. It's way bigger than anticipated and well worth a visit. At 3 EURO per person in june it was simply a bargain. And we had it to ourselves.
