In episode 4 of my travels through the Mackenzie District I arrived at Twizel. With the glorious blue lakes and snow capped mountains in the background, the team at High Country Salmon offered me the opportunity to catch my own glacial mountain salmon (chinook). High Country Salmon is a boutique working salmon farm with a café and onsite fish shop, and visitors have the opportunity to take part in salmon feeding (free!) and try out the Catch-A-Fish experience. The best part of the experience, in my opinion, was the chance to taste the freshest salmon you can possibly get.
