This was our final rehearsal for the World of Dance Season 3 World Finals. This routine has gone a long way since its inception. Originally, we wanted a diverse, pure-Filipino theme with different "tribes" that would represent the different sectors and regions of the country, united in one dance. However, production wanted a different direction for the team and look altogether. We managed to convince them to have at least a "revolution" vibe to which they agreed and still retained the nationalistic colors of our flag on the costume. It turned out to be one of my proudest moments in my career despite everything.
I also just wanted to point out the intricacy of this choreography (better seen in this rehearsal video), and hope that our audience would appreciate every detail that was put into this piece.
Our World Of Dance S3 journey may have ended on the grandest Finals stage of all, but I honestly believe that this isn't our destination rather a stop over to prepare us for great things ahead.
To all the World Of Dance Finalists, it has been an honor to share this stage with you. You are indeed the cream of the crop and we are proud to call ourselves part of this group. To all the World Of Dance Season 3 judges: NE-YO, Jennifer Lopez, Derek Hough, thank you for always pushing us beyond our limits and always inspiring us and appreciating where we came from. To all the WOD S3 staff and team Nappytabs, thank you for always taking good care of us and for showing us what real professionalism looks like. Working with legitimate Hollywood people definitely put us in a higher caliber than we can only imagine before.
To my assistant coach, and chaperone head, Rick Basilio, and "Kuya" Niko Francisco, thank you for all your efforts, patience, criticisms, support, and grit. All of our mini victories and failures, arguments and sleepless nights, buffet and breakfast runs, road trips and gruesome planning, countless hours of looking out for each kid, and most importantly our friendship have helped all of us to get to where we are now. I'd say all of that in itself is a victory.
To our parent-chaperones, Tita Anna Michelle Uy and Tito Jay Maneclang, thank you for your efforts on looking out not only for the kids, but also for us ('coz we are kids at heart too)!
To all our family, friends, old and new fans, our UPeepz family back home who are our best supporters, THANK YOU.
To our beloved motherland, THIS ONE'S FOR YOU.
