Unfortunately there is no Day 3 vlog since I had either food poisoning or a stomach bug that hit me on Day 2 :(. While I was able to soldier through Day 2, that evening was rough for me. We managed to make it over to Fontainebleau on Day 3 for my mom, who had never been there and wanted to visit, but none of us had any wins so there wasn't much to report. We had hoped to eat at one of their many fantastic restaurants, but I just couldn't manage to eat anything so we went back to the Cosmo and my mom and Mr. E enjoyed food from Hattie B's in the food hall. It was an early night for everyone, and sadly the next morning I had to say goodbye to my mom, who was heading back home to DC. We did have some good times in Vegas!
Now, back to Day 4. Since I was already up early after taking my mom to the airport, I decided to take advantage of the open seats at the gorgeous Chandelier Bar that morning and play some video poker. I enjoyed a few espresso martinis and Fiji waters while I got some pretty good hits that allowed me to play for a quite awhile. I didn't ultimately walk away with any cash, but sometimes a girl likes to just sit at the bar, chat with the nice bartender, enjoy some drinks, and play video poker, you know?
After a little nap in the room, we got ready to head over to Bellagio. We had reservations at The Vault, a newer cocktail lounge, and we wanted to play in the casino. We had some fun but no massive wins.
We had been interested in visiting The Vault for some time, and we were glad we'd made a reservation for this trip. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. It's a smallish venue that feels very private and exclusive. It's very dark and there's a DJ who plays music that creates a chill vibe. There's a menu with several small bites and specialty cocktails, but we learned that you can order really any drink you like, or tell the server your favorite spirit and flavor profile, and they'll get the mixologist to create a cocktail just for you.
When we arrived we were given some complimentary bar snacks, which were welcome. We ordered the truffle fries, which was about all I thought I could manage due to my stomach issues that I was recovering from, and those were expensive but an excellent, filling choice. Mr. E and I both had the Vapor Trail, a smoked old fashioned with Japanese whiskey. It was an fantastic cocktail. I couldn't really handle another at the moment, but Mr. E ordered a sidecar, which he very much enjoyed (it's been difficult for us to find anyone who can make a decent sidecar in Las Vegas!). The experience ended with complimentary espresso martini jelly candies, which were delicious! We're happy that we went to The Vault and would gladly return due to the great cocktails and exclusive feel.
After that we played some slots and video poker at Bellagio, and we were planning to go to the Wynn afterwards. But then I spotted the Pinky Ring, Bruno Mars' club. I LOVE Bruno Mars and had really wanted to go to Pinky Ring, so we decided to see if we could get in without a reservation. Because it was a Wednesday at around 10:30 p.m. it wasn't a problem for us to get in, but there’s no seating unless you make a reservation with a required spend. We stood around the bar, ordered specialty cocktails, and chatted with an absolutely delightful couple who were visiting from Mexico.
At around 11 p.m., the house band started playing, and they were coming in HOT! What a talented group of musicians. We enjoyed their first set and another round of cocktails, and by the second set we were out on the dance floor and having such a great time with our new friends. Pinky Ring was an EXCELLENT experience--there was no cover charge, and if we hadn't bought drinks we could have enjoyed the club free of charge. The band was awesome and covered a lot of my favorite old school funk tunes. I wish I could have taken photos or videos to share, but "What happens in the Pinky Ring stays in the Pinky Ring"--they have a strict no photo or video policy (it was like this when we went to see Bruno Mars/Silksonic in concert, too). You'll just have to trust us and check out Pinky Ring for yourself :)
We somewhat ill advisedly decided to go to the Wynn from there, although we should have just gone back to the Cosmo! Mr. E almost fell asleep in the cab and I had to rouse him so we could go inside the Wynn. He woke up and luckily we had some pretty good hits on a few slots, but then I put my foot down and said we have to get the hell out of here before you pass out at one of these machines and security bans us! We got back to the Cosmo safely and I put him to bed, and then I enjoyed some good luck on video poker at the Cosmo! We slept in the next morning before heading to downtown Las Vegas in the afternoon for Day 5, which was great fun and involved an handpay! Stay tuned for the next installment :)
