The Rory Gallagher Statue, Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal, 2010

The Rory Gallagher Statue was finally unveiled in Ballyshannon Town Centre on Wednesday 2nd June 2010 and is without doubt the greatest tribute to Rory since his untimely passing in June 1995.
So 15 years on, Rory is immortalised in Bronze (his late mothers wish) and it happened in Ballyshannon thanks to the efforts of the Rory Gallagher Festival Committee and Donegal County Council.

Following calls for submissions by artists / sculptors to build the statue, David Annand from Fife in Scotland was selected in April 2008.

The Statue was finally unveiled on the opening day of the 5-day Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival 2010 in Ballyshannon.
