Plot: A man claims he awoke to find his wife dead in bed beside him. Neighbors convince the detectives to hold him for murder, but the victim's sister provides an unexpected defense.

Note: It's not clear if this is the correct episode plot or not. Another Dragnet Episode guide has this episode as Friday investigating the death of a rich man. However, the closest radio episode that matches that plot is from years later. It is also another episode of Dragnet (1951) that has been lost to the ravages of time. The plot listed does come from an radio episode called "The Big Cliff" that aired on June 28, 1951. That episode has been added here in place of what would have been the TV episode. As far as I know, the TV episode version no longer exists. If it does exist, please let me know.

[At this point, Sgt. Ed Jacobs is Friday's partner due to actor Bart Yarborough's death in December 1951. However, due to the radio episode being broadcasted earlier than the TV episode, Ben Romero is in this episode. Technically, the Ben Romero character isn't killed off until the second episode of the second season -- so these early radio episodes don't really mess up the continuality of the TV series.]
