In 2025, Leica released the reinterpretation of the Summilux-M 50 f/1.4 marks the rebirth of a legend. It combines classic, vintage design with state-of-the-art technology. Traditional charm meets the high demands of modern photography.

But what could you expect from the optics. The original 1959 optics remained the same for around 43 years. The outside look and designed changed over the years but the optics remained the same. So in this comparison, I compared 2 non-aspherical lenses, 1979 and 2005 to my aspherical lens made in 2015.
