The WIRELESS PLANNING & COORDINATION (WPC) Wing of the Ministry of Communications, created in 1952, it is the National Radio Regulatory Authority responsible for Frequency Spectrum Management, including licensing and caters for the needs of all wireless users (Government and Private) in the country.

It Covers all kinds of wireless products under various Mandatory licensing and Certification schemes such as Equipment Type Approvals, Experimental license, Import License and Mobile License as per INDIAN WIRELESS ACT.

Ensuring that all products communicate with each other properly: Wireless products work as intended when they communicate with other devices. If that communication has issues, the product is considered defective.

Maintaining national security: Products of wireless nature can often pose great danger to the security of the nation. Therefore, the Wireless Planning and Coordination wing has established strict guidelines to assess the internal architecture of wireless devices.

Preventing intrusion of frequencies: Many devices work on de-licensed frequencies and if the user is not careful, such devices can intrude with the workings of other wireless articles.

What Is The Process For Eta Approval?

The application for the #ETA Approval has to be filed by an Indian Entity.
The application has to be applied Online on the Portal by providing details and Uploading Documentation.
The Applicant has to do the Self Declaration on the details provided for the product.
Based on this #WPC will issue an Online ETA Certificate as per the details submitted by the Applicant after Scrutiny.

Docs Require from Client:

• Applicant details like #AIR details
• Authorization letter to AIR
• Id of AIR
• Agreement between the Manufacturer and the Indian Applicant.
• RF test Report from Any of the ILAC Approved Lab.
• Undertaking

Who can be the applicant for the ETA APPROVALS?
Only an INDIAN applicant
