Gene Banks is a Philadelphia Basketball Legend. Gene was a 3 time high school All-American and the first McDonald's All-American MVP. Gene went on to star for Duke University and then later as a NBA player for the Chicago Bulls. Michael Jordan played with Gene on the bulls in his early years. Gene was so influential on Jordan that Michael hired Gene as an assistant coach of the Wizards in their first few seasons.

Mike Monroe was another West Philadelphia High School All-American class of 1987 went to college on a full division 1 basketball scholarship. Today he is a community activist and an extremely successful business owner and entrepreneur.
