Andrea S. Rutledge, Honorary AIA 2014

Andrea Rutledge has been executive director of the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) since 2007. As such, she is the chief executive for the sole agency authorized to accredit U.S. professional degree programs in architecture. In addition to accreditation, the NAAB manages the Education Evaluation Services for Architects and serves as the Secretariat for the Canberra Accord. The Accord, which Rutledge was instrumental in forging, is a multilateral agreement between seven accreditation or validation agencies (with more potentially to follow), and its long-term effect is to facilitate international portability of academic qualifications.
