Made to a budget of about U$5,000 using BOAC staff, one (Hugh Dibley BOAC copilot, later 747 captain) drove a Ferrari 275LM in the race, and also drove the camera car agreed loaned free by Bruce McLaren and an AC Cobra loaned for a day by AC Cars Thames Ditton. (Hugh started racing in his own AC Aceca- Bristol.)
