Workshop on Bringing Self Care Into Your Practice Through Somatic Awareness (Part 1)

Описание к видео Workshop on Bringing Self Care Into Your Practice Through Somatic Awareness (Part 1)

In this two-part offering, Jennifer Axinn-Weiss, MFA, MA, SEP shares how Somatic Experiencing (SE), a body-oriented therapeutic model that helps heal trauma and other stress experiences, can become part of your self-care tool kit and support you in your work.

Engaging in self-care allows mental health providers to handle stress, regulate emotions, and minimize burnout and compassion fatigue. This webinar can help providers understand the relationship between somatic regulation, their professional practice and general well being.
Developed by Peter Levine, Ph.D., SE is the result of the multidisciplinary study of stress physiology, psychology, ethology, biology, neuroscience, indigenous healing practices, and medical biophysics, with many years of successful clinical application.

This workshop will provide opportunities to learn about the fundamentals and experience the benefits of somatic experiencing (SE) first hand. Part 1 will begin with understanding somatic regulation along with developing somatic awareness. Part 2 will focus on applying somatic-based awareness for self-care to incorporate before, during and after sessions. By participating in both offerings you will receive practical tools, learn better boundary awareness, review session structure, and apply exercises to benefit both you and the youth you work with.

After attending this 2-part offering, participants will be able to:
- Define and experience somatic awareness
- Practice somatic presence before, during and between sessions
- Share simple somatic practices with clients
