Our political party's election war chests come to over $2 billion. Negative adds work. Between now and November we are going to spend $2 billion to poison ourselves against each other. Whoever wins will find the country even more ungovernable than it is now.

I propose a gentleman's agreement pledging to use half this money to offset the national debt. That still leaves $1 billion to broadcast hate, but we'll get some real value out of the rest.
