Ronald Reagan, born on February 6, 1911, in Tampico, Illinois, was the 40th President of the United States, serving from 1981 to 1989. Before his presidency, Reagan had a diverse career as an actor and politician. He graduated from Eureka College in 1932 and worked as a sports broadcaster before moving to California in 1937 to pursue acting. Over three decades, he appeared in more than 50 films.

Reagan entered politics as a Democrat but switched to the Republican Party in 1962. He served as the Governor of California from 1967 to 1975. His presidency is noted for significant events such as tax cuts, increased defense spending, and negotiations with the Soviet Union that contributed to the end of the Cold War. Reagan survived an assassination attempt in 1981 and later battled Alzheimer’s disease, passing away on June 5, 2004.
