Dealing with criticism positively is an important life skill. At some point in your life you will be criticised, perhaps in a professional way. Sometimes it will be difficult to accept – but that all depends on your reaction. You can either use criticism in a positive way to improve, or in a negative way that can lower your self-esteem and cause stress, anger or even aggression. Watch Rajashree Deshpande, Indian theatre, TV and film actress, reveal before you the secret to channelize criticism in a positive way and use it as a platform to help people better their lives Rajshri Deshpande left her career as a media planner to straddle the world of her dreams – acting. Starting with theatre she went on to act in films. She is the lead actress in "Sexy Durga", the film that received critical acclaim and 10 awards including Rotterdam Hivos Tiger Award. Another of her award winning films is "Angry Indian Goddesses" , which received 1st runner up People's Choice award in TIFF and People's Choice award in Rome Film Festival.

Her other popular works include movies such as "Talaash” , “Kick”, TV shows such as 'Kuch to Log Kahenge' and Anil Kapoor's hit 24. Rajshri has a number of exciting films slated to release that include BBC drama 'Macmafia' Directed by James Watkins, Nandita Das's Manto (as Ismat Chughtai) , Satyashodhak (as Savitri bai Phule) and Netflix original 'Sacred games' directed by Anurag Kashyap.

She is passionate about her work in the community and has revived a river and built 200 toilets in her adopted drought affected village in Marathwada. She is part of various NGOs such as Rescue Foundation, Dharavi Diary, Beach-o-Beach cleanup, Boodhnoor Vaidyashala and SOS Papa with whom she worked in Nepal after the Earthquake This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
