DB Technologies ES503 is a portable Tri-amped (3 amps) stereo sound system comprising two passive array-style pole-mounted top speakers and one floor-based 12” lightweight subwoofer. The sub hosts a 1000W power amp module with auto-sensing PSU and a 3-channel mixer with Bluetooth connectivity. A powerful DSP (Digital Signal processor) – controlled through an advanced user-interface with an OLED display – manages both the coverage of the entire system and all functions of the mixer, making the ES503 a real contender in terms of sound performance and versatility.

The advantage of the ES503 when compared with industry competitors is not only its larger than average sound output, which is rated at 1000 watts with a maximum SPL (Sound Pressure Level) of 121dB but also the flexibility and versatility of the speaker and DSP combinations which allow Mono, Stereo and Doubling options to suit the venue's size and capacity. The basic set-up of the ES503 includes the two array-style speaker columns - each having 4 speakers within the curved front cabinets - along with a 12-inch Sub-woofer.

The speaker columns are marked respectively "A" and "B" on the rear, and can literally be stacked on top of each other and connected by the inter-locking sliding interface located on the end of speaker cabinet "B" which also supplies power . These can be connected to the subwoofer by a telescopic pole providing two separate height options and which fits into an 25mm diameter threaded mounting hole in the top of the sub-woofer. The “A” speaker array receives the powered signal from the subwoofer through a 4-poles male Speakon connector and re-routes the audio through the quick connection system on top of its cabinet. The “B“ speaker array is both equipped with the Speakon connector and the sliding connection system, but when used in the stacked configuration, its position must be on top of the “A” speaker. In other words, both tops can be used on speaker stands or poles, but in the case of a vertical array configuration the default setup must be deployed.

Thanks to the use of Neodymium magnets on each of the speakers, both the two tops and the sub-woofer are relatively lightweight with the sub weighing just 16.4Kg. The on-board DSP provides 24-Bit processing up to 48Khz, whilst the advanced graphical LED interface allows the user access to the core parameters within the system, allowing you to recall the configuration presets, adjust levels, EQ and create a post/post gain mix for different purposes. All editing operations are carried out through a single rotary encoder with switch, making them extremely easy and error-free.

The ES503 is equipped with a three-channel mixer controlled by a smart DSP. The first channel features a MIC/instrument balanced/unbalanced combo connector with impedance compensation, notch-filter with selectable frequency and adjustable gain with 3 positions (0, +10, + 30dB). The second and third channels are LINE inputs with balanced/unbalanced combo XLR/jack connector. There is a 3-band EQ that, depending on the configuration preset, works as an overall EQ or individual channel EQ. A pre-set memory location is also available.

The balanced AUX/MIX XLR output can be used as a simple mono link connection, to re-route part of the stereo mix to another speaker system (e.g.: right output to a second ES503), or to create a new mono mix with independent levels for stage monitoring or recording purposes. This output is also provided with a second notch filter with selectable frequency. The ES503 is equipped with built-in Bluetooth stereo streaming, which allows the connection of any device (such as mobile phones, tablets or audio players) with Bluetooth compatible connectivity.
