Dr. Michael Nelson is the Fulmer Professor of Political Science at Rhodes College and Senior Fellow at the UVA Jack Miller Center. He is an expert on the American presidency and has written and edited several books, including "Resilient America: Electing Nixon in 1968, Channeling Dissent, and Dividing Government," "The American Presidency: Origins and Development, 1776–2014," and "The Presidency and the Political System," in its 10th edition. His wide-ranging interests are reflected in his published articles on Frank Sinatra, Charles Dickens, the Iliad and Odyssey, baseball, and music.
