In order to fish for octopus, you'll need some kind of hollow tube or old clay pots. The octopus has the habit of going in there and making it a nest.

You can use PPR pipe, about 10 or 12cm diameter or medium plastic containers like the ones I show in the video.
Make sure the container used has only one way in and out. That's why you'll need to close one end of the pipe.
You'll need to pierce small holes in the side to pass the rope. That rope is needed to be able to retract the traps later.
Measure the depth of the water, to leave enough rope for the trap to reach the bottom and then connect all the traps to the same rope, at a distance of about 10 to 15 meters from each other, and you can throw them in the water.

Make sure to attach some kind of buoy on the end of the rope, so you can find it.

In some cases you can attach a small weight on the inside of the trap, like a piece of rock, to keep it in place if there is any kind of disturbance in the water for any reason. The inner weight also serves as a way to always land the trap right side up.

Make sure to follow the laws regarding octopus fishing. Respect nature.
