William Turner - A Prominent Figure of Romanticism - Painting Collection (50 Seascape)

William Turner (1775-1851) was a prominent British painter and one of the prominent figures of the Romanticism movement. This video contains his 50 landscape paintings in chronological order.

Turner is considered one of the greatest Romantic painters and one of the precursors of Impressionism. He was fascinated with natural phenomena and had an exceptional ability to capture the light, atmosphere, and ever-changing moods of nature like sunlight, storm, rain, and fog. Some of his paintings showed shipwrecks and fire which were inspired by historical events he witnessed.

Turner traveled extensively throughout Britain and Europe, sketching and painting various landscapes, seascapes, and historical scenes. His work is characterized by loose brushwork, luminous colors, and a focus on the interplay of light and shadow. His use of light and expressive color revolutionized landscape painting and influenced many artists.
