📜 The sacred beginning... the call to divine wisdom 📜

🔸 Sanskrit:
श्री-नारद उवाच
समुद्र-मथने पूर्वं
कालनेमिर् महासुरः
युयुधे विष्णुना सार्धं
युद्धे तेन हतो बलात्

🔸 Transliteration:
śrī-nārada uvāca
samudra-mathane pūrvaṃ
kālanemir mahāsuraḥ
yuyudhe viṣṇunā sārdhaṃ
yuddhe tena hato balāt

🔸 Word-by-word Meaning:
śrī-nāradaḥ uvāca—Śrī Nārada said; samudra—of the ocean; mathane—in churning; pūrvam—before; kālanemiḥ—Kālanemi; mahāsuraḥ—a great demon; yuyudhe—fought; viṣṇunā—Viṣṇu; sārdham—with; yuddhe—in the fight; tena—by Him; hataḥ—killed; balāt—by the strength.

🔸 English Translation:
In this verse, King Bahulāśva respectfully speaks to the great sage Nārada. He asks him about Kaṃsa, wanting to know who this demon really was and why he was so strong and fearless. The king requests Nārada to clearly explain where Kaṃsa came from and what kind of actions he performed during his life, so that he can fully understand his story.
