✍🏻INGREDIENTS:
◇ 250 gms fragrant rice
◇ 2-3 cups of coconut milk (fresh & canned)
◇ Lemon slices [Traditionally: pandan leaves]
◇ Ginger slices [Traditionally: lemongrass]
◇ Salt to taste
◇ Sugar 2-3 tbsp

Welcome to my channel sam g kitchen! Today, I'm diving into the heart of Malaysian cuisine with a beloved dish called Nasi Lemak. This fragrant rice dish is often considered Malaysia's national dish and is packed with flavor. Let's get started!

● First, we need to prepare our rice. Traditionally use jasmine rice for that perfect fragrance or any fragrant rice.

● Rinse it thoroughly, then cook it in coconut milk, adding salt to taste and sugar (Traditionally a few pandan leaves for that extra aromatic touch & lemongrass) but as I couldn't find the traditional touch hence I'm using lemon and ginger slices.
[The coconut milk makes the rice rich and creamy, setting the stage for the rest of the dish.]

● The liquid level should be upto the first knuckle of your index finger from the rice. You can adjust the level by adding extra water.

● Cook the rice on high flame for 2-3 minutes then simmer, until the rice cooked properly. Rice should not be too much sticky!

● Now, it’s time to plate! Serve the fluffy coconut rice alongside the vibrant sambal, eggs, cucumbers, fried fish and peanuts as well as crispy fried Malaysian chicken. Each bite is a delicious explosion of texture and flavor, a true celebration of Malaysian culture. Enjoy your homemade Nasi Lemak!
