Helllooo everybody and come along for the ride as I birth the Marquette Golden Eagles program on NCAA 14.

In this episode, we embark on the Year 6 Offseason following the best season in Marquette program history. Following a ten-win season with a victory in the Orange Bowl, the Golden Eagles now have their sights set on the National Championship as their football team continues to climb the national ranks. Lance Leipold has emerged as one of the best head coaches in college football. Last year he turned down the Georgia job and he's sure to garner even more interest this offseason.

Other coaches who may be on the move include defensive coordinator Matt Campbell and Bobby Goss, who has been the offensive coordinator under Leipold all six seasons thus far. Campbell seeks to get back into a head coaching gig while Goss craves his first chance as the headman of a college football program.

Following the Coaching Carousel, we'll move into Players Leaving. As the Golden Eagles roster continues to get deeper and more talented, players transferring out is an increasing possibility. Last year sophomore CB Derrick Perkins almost transferred, although Leipold was able to keep him in Milwaukee. This time around, there may be even more players he needs to try to sway back to the program. More notably, among all players who graduated, the Marquette Golden Eagles shipped their first draft pick off to the NFL!

In Offseason Recruiting, Marquette now has more resources at their disposal. They have three primary targets including #4 OLB Jake Allen, #4 FS Terry O'Donnell, and a three-star OT prospect in Adrian Holmes. Battling against one other school for the services of all three prospects, it comes down to the wire for all. Join in for the suspense as we simulate through into Signing Day and find out where our Year 6 recruiting class ranked nationally.

Going into Position Changes, there isn't much to adjust as the offensive line and linebacking corps mostly remain intact from last season. However, the secondary requires a little shake-up and we must assign three-star athlete Brent Stokes to a position, whether he becomes an RB, WR, or more ideally gets a spot in the defensive backfield. Plus, in a surprise move, we'll transition a high-profile player from linebacker up to the defensive line.

Lastly, we'll move into Training Results as senior center Bobby Marcus headlines the team with a +7 going all the way up to a 96 overall. QB Jason Smith enjoys good progression as he's set for his first season as the full-time starter. We're really leaning on the guys in the secondary to show high progression this season as it currently poses the weakest unit on our team.

In the next episode, we'll preview the Year 7 season starting in the preseason with a deep dive into recruiting. The Golden Eagles are set for a very active recruiting cycle as a heavy crop of graduations looms following the season. We'll analyze the depth chart, go through redshirts, and finish the Spring by outlining our Year 7 schedule.

Then we'll move into the Year 7 season and preview the entire college football landscape starting with the Preseason Top 25, Heisman Watch, and all the other good stuff.
