The brother talks about being raised in traditional Latino household, as first generation American in the United States, and coming to embrace Islam after learning about it through social media.

He talks about becoming disillusioned with Catholicism due to all the idol worship and association of partners with God. Then one slowly but surely Allah opened his heart up to Islam and he ended up taking his shahada.
