LIVING SINGLE (1993) Officially Ended After This Happened..
Living Single, created by Yvette Lee Bowser, premiered on FOX in 1993 and featured an all–Black cast of roommates living in Brooklyn, New York. It was an immediate and "unexpected" hit, according to Entertainment Weekly in 1994. I know you already heard me talk about the image the show presented of black people, but that part really cannot be overemphasized. To put that into proper context, all the jobs of the characters on the show include stockbroker, attorney, and magazine editor, as opposed to the representation of people of color in those days.
