Testing the new Total Contact Saddle seat pad

Today I am excited to say that Bug and I tested the, soon to be offered, Total Contact Saddle Seat pad. We have been testing different ideas through the year and every time it wasn't quite right, but this is it, I love it.
Our saddlers were designing the saddle seat pad with the trickier to fit horses in mind, for example horses with a prominent back bone or a shark fin, high wither that need a bit of extra help to get the TCS to fit them comfortably . After testing it on Bug today I can safely say it is amazing on the rounder, barrel shaped, flatter backed horses as well.
It's perfect for riders that have prominent seat bones, as the seat bones will be felt by the horse without extra padding, but they will not be felt through the seat pad with its 3 layers of foam. We also wanted to create a saddle pad / seat that was more "meaty" that gives the rider more stability and feeling of security. This could be perfect for people who are moving from a more conventional saddle to the TCS, they might know the saddle is right for their horse but they need more help with a structured seat for stability. This new pad does it all. It uses sculpted foam, cut and shaped in house by our saddlers, topped with another layer of foam over the top for pressure dispersal, it has a raised rear seat similar to a small cantle. It is finished with Equisuede for grip.
It is very important to us that we do not move away from our roots, the whole point of the Total Contact Saddle is about having the closest possible contact with the horse and we can "feel" the horse and the horse "feel" us.
I made a few short videos of my first ride in the seat pad, I have put them together into one video, as you can tell I like it!
It will be on offer in the nest few weeks once we have got it looking just right. It's probably best used with a thin saddle cloth underneath, we will be customising a Supercool saddle cloth to go perfectly with the seat pad but any thin saddle cloth with work well. This is not a cheap option, it has been designed carefully and thoroughly and a lot of skilled work goes into making it.
