Really? Really? This? This is how we choose to end the regular season? Getting destroyed by Sweden on its own was bad enough, but the killer of it was stupid. In the 3rd period, we were making a comeback. We were 2 goals behind Sweden. Luke Osburn got pushed into the boards. It was bad, but on the bright side, we were going to get a power play. That should be the moment where we make it a 1 goal game and make a comeback. But instead, Osburn got penalized for delay of game. Osburn got pushed into the boards, and Sweden gets a power play??!!! What???!! I get Osburn shot the puck over the glass before he got pushed, but seriously??!! He only did that because he had no time to react! That was not fair!! USA should have been on a power play, and if we were going to get penalized, at least give Sweden a penalty for boarding and make it a 4 on 4. We should have been on the power play. We should have come back. We had the momentum. We had a chance! We could have won this game. But instead, Sweden gets the call, and it kills us. Sweden gets a power play goal, game over. USA loses for the first time in this tournament. USA failed to win the division. To make matters worse, instead of facing Latvia, USA faces Finland in the first round. That team is not only good, but are looking for revenge for the gold medal game. I swear to god, if we lose to Finland, if we fail to win 3 gold medals because of this stupid call, USA will make it its mission to hunt the refs down. I don't care if we got destroyed, those refs should be ashamed of themselves and need to be fired. A great game ruined by terrible officiating. Unbelievable!
