Mandevilla sanderi - how to grow/rocktrumpet/tropical climbers/plant profile

Описание к видео Mandevilla sanderi - how to grow/rocktrumpet/tropical climbers/plant profile

The mandevilla genus is a special one! If you want a climbing vine that reaches 20 feet and catches every single eye...this is the plant for you!
It's low maintenance once you've got your trellis set up, and it does really well with heat, which can be awesome for those scorching Summer patio days.
Here are some species that I recommend:
'mandevilla boliviensis' - a smaller cultivar, which is much less intimidating if you only have a small trellis or limited planting space. It'll spread vertically and horizontally about 3-6 feet. white flowers.

'mandevilla laxa' - these have white flowers as well, but the FRAGRANCE of these is spectacular! The common name for this one is typically "chilean jasmine"

'mandevilla sanderi' - this is the featured species in my video. It is just my absolute favorite because I LOVE vertical growth and I LOVE red and pink flowers. There are hybrids now that produce flowers larger in size, but I like the original flowers, they are showy enough for me! The good news is, this cultivar is really popular, so if you go on a hunt for it in the growing season, you probably won't have to look too hard.

As always, thank you for watching, and thank you for sticking with me during my house move/ laptop breakdown hiatus.
