For more than half a century, Binibining Pilipinas has been the benchmark for beauty pageants in the Philippines. This year, the organization is preparing a grand edition for the competition's 60th anniversary. However, pageant fans and the general public seem to have a lukewarm reception towards this year's edition.

In recent years, Binibining Pilipinas has lost some important titles from its roster of crowns: Miss Universe, Miss Intercontinental, and Miss Grand International, to be precise. This means the legendary pageant currently only holds the rights to select the Philippine representatives for Miss International and Miss Globe.

Because of this, many people are starting to wonder: Is Binibining Pilipinas a dying beauty pageant? Well, today I will address this question and share my thoughts on the matter.
