For the first time, we visit Portlaoise station in County Laois. This station is served by Cork and Limerick InterCity services, and, since 2013, it has been the terminus for the South Western Commuter Line from Heuston. On Sundays, no Commuter services operate from here. Instead, they operate from Kildare. The reason for this is because in the morning, one Tralee service and one Cork service call here, with the rest of the trains calling here on Sundays being Limerick services.
