Nara Dreamland Overview & Tour in 2000 w/Imagineer David Mumford (Disneyland Inspired Park in Japan)

This is a 14 minute overview of Nara Dreamland with Imagineer David Mumford who was in Japan at the time to work on Mermaid Lagoon at Tokyo Disney Sea (joined by his wife Carole). The park was very similar in some ways to Disneyland as it was modeled after it, with Nara Dreamland open from July 1, 1961 to August 31, 2006. Some attractions look very like Disneyland, others are totally different. There is a castle based on Sleeping Beauty Castle, a monorail, a Matterhorn style roller coaster, teacups and much more. The descriptions sometimes use the Disneyland names for the rides to explain them (like Matterhorn instead of Bobsleigh).

This is a fun "home video" look at the park. David Mumford worked for Walt Disney Imagineering for almost 25 years before he passed away in 2003.
