Nature Recovery Networks (NRNs) are about more, bigger, better and more connected spaces for nature. They’re about a strategic, long-term approach to managing, creating, restoring, and enhancing habitats and landscapes - linking together ecological processes across protected areas and the wider landscape while highlighting the link between the status of our natural world and human well-being. The Northern Ireland Landscape Partnership (National Trust NI, RSPB NI, Ulster Wildlife and Woodland Trust) wants to see NRNs embedded in law, across government and all decision-making as a key tool in addressing the biodiversity and climate crisis. Crucially, we believe that Local Authorities should be given the tools and resources to help deliver NRNs in Northern Ireland.
