Howard Murphet (1906-2004) was an Australian author and lecturer who is best known for his books on Indian spirituality and philosophy. Murphet was born in Tasmania, Australia, and served in the Royal Australian Air Force during World War II. After the war, he worked as a journalist and later as a public relations executive. In the 1960s, Murphet became a devotee of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba and began studying and writing about Him in detail. He traveled extensively throughout India and wrote several books on his experiences, including "Sai Baba: Man of Miracles" and "Sai Baba: Avatar." Murphet's books were popular in India and the West and helped to introduce many readers to the teachings of Swami.
