How to climb Rebuffat-Pierre (TD-, 6a+) above Chamonix | Alpine Climbing Vlog Ep. 41

Описание к видео How to climb Rebuffat-Pierre (TD-, 6a+) above Chamonix | Alpine Climbing Vlog Ep. 41

Alpinism and alpine climbing Rebuffat-Pierre (TD-, 6a+) above Chamonix near Mont Blanc is a massive alpine classic that ends on the Arete des Cosmiques! So, if you are looking for tips on how to climb Rebuffat-Pierre (TD-, 6a+) on Eperon des Cosmiques next to Aiguille du Midi above Chamonix, then you watch this alpine climbing video.

Rebuffet-Pierre is one of the big classical alpine climbs on the Mont Blanc massif and there are a very good reasons for that! Rebuffat-Pierre (TD-, 6a+) is four pitches of excellent rock at TD-, 6a+ on the southern end of Eperon des cosmiques. And this would be a perfect alternative to the quite overpopulated Rebuffat-Baquet on the South Face of Aiguille du Midi.

You approach Rebuffat-Pierre (TD-, 6a+) near Chamonix by heading down into Vallee Blanche towards the Cosmiques Hut. When you see the big overhang on the Eperon des Cosmiques you know you are there. You should scramble up through the gulley on the furthest southern end of the Eperon des Cosmiques, but due to all the heat in July 2019, when did our climb, this was not possible. So, we had to alpine climb another pitch at around 5b.

The first real pitch of Rebuffat-Pierre (TD-, 6a+) near Chamonix is a quite easy grade 4a traverse on a huge ledge that ends just about 15 meters below the crux overhang. And this is one of the obvious reasons for adding Rebuffat-Pierre (TD-, 6a+) to your Chamonix alpine climbing tick list.

The second pitch a gorgeous alpine crack climb of maybe 10 meters that transforms into a series of good holds that will lead you to the crux overhang. Climbing a 6a+ overhang in 3.700 meters above sea level with a backpack is not something you should take lightly!

The third pitch of Rebuffat-Pierre (TD-, 6a+) near Chamonix is amazing too. You follow a series of cracks at grade 5c with a short sequence through a small overhang.

The final pitch of the classical alpine climbing route, Rebuffat-Pierre (TD-, 6a+), is more of the same, but at an easier grade. You will follow the crack until you the face eases out into scrambling. Set up a belay here.

You can descend Rebuffat-Pierre (TD-, 6a+) by alpine climbing the Arete des Cosmiques back to the Aiguille du Midi lift station!
