Astley Bridge⎜Warburtons Bread⎜

Astley Bridge was founded in 1884 with the first burial on the 16th October. the chapel on the site is grade 2 listed and recently underwent renovations to open it up for use again.

On site there are plenty of large gravestones of important families as well as the graves of three of Boltons mayors; Benjamin Kirkman, Robert Domaine and Henry Warburton.

Henry Warburton is the nephew on Thomas Warburton the founder of Warburton's Bread, he took over when he became a master baker. Over the years Henry turned the bakery from a small shop to an industrial bakery much like it is today. Since then it has been passed down through 4 generations of Warburton's up until present day.
