The historic Salzburg Christmas market on Domplatz and Residenzplatz is one of the most beautiful and oldest Christmas markets in the world. Its unique location in the middle of the World Heritage Old Town of Salzburg, the traditional stalls and its long history make the Salzburg Christmas market something very special.
The Salzburg Christmas market is not only a backdrop for traditional 96 exhibitorsA varied cultural and traditional program is offered every day: Christmas readings for children, Christmas tours, visits to the Nikolaus and the Christ Child with his angels, the well-known beyond borders traditional tower blowing, the young tower blowers and much more. The daily choir concerts in front of the baroque backdrop of the Salzburg Cathedral and the opportunity to sing in a choir are also very much appreciated by the audience. On December 5th the traditional Krampus run and on the first Raunacht on 21 December the great Perchten run with over 150 Schön- and Schiachperchten. In total there are more than 100 cultural and traditional activities with more than 1000 participating people.
