Educating Dunkirk: Finding Spiderman | Natalie Scott | TEDxNorwichED

Описание к видео Educating Dunkirk: Finding Spiderman | Natalie Scott | TEDxNorwichED

Natalie speaks of lost faith and mistakes, of how schools and current school practices are leading teachers to leave the profession at an alarming rate.

She shares her moving experiences from refugee camps, sharing stories of teaching with no resources, of pedagogy stripped bare, and telling tales of the bravery, resilience and humanity of the students whom I was privileged to teach.

She ends with messages of hope, that kindness and relationships are more powerful than data and fear, that giving to others can ultimately change our life paths for the better. We may not end up where we thought that we would be, and the path may be walked in wellies rather than in heels, but through good deeds good things can and do happen.

Out of the mud, the lotus can grow.

Natalie has always been passionate about education, as an AST, Lead Practitioner, SLE and as an Assistant Head, leading on whole school T&L. She has been part of leadership teams lifting schools out of special measures and thoroughly relished this challenge, driven by a strong desire to do what was best for the students in her care. She has also been part of a team providing emergency educational aid to the displaced children in the refugee camps of Northern France.
