Hello everyone, welcome back to KATV India.
Today’s story is from Bengaluru, where tragedy has struck Wilson Garden. The death toll from the cylinder blast that happened last week has now risen to three. Among the victims are a young mother, her little daughter, and a boy. This heartbreaking incident has shocked the entire city and raised serious questions about gas safety in crowded neighborhoods.
MAIN STORY
Three lives Mubarak, Kasturamma, and Kayal have been lost to this terrible accident. On Friday, during the blast, a 10 year-old boy named Mubarak was the first victim. He died the same day of the explosion. Then on Monday, two more lives were lost. Kasturamma, a 30 year old domestic worker from Tamil Nadu, who had suffered 40 percentage burn injuries, was fighting for her life. Sadly, she passed away at 8 pm while being treated at Victoria Hospital. Her daughter, Kayal, just 8 years old, had suffered 35 percentage burns. She was admitted at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health. Despite all efforts, she passed away earlier on Monday, around 5 pm.
Apart from them, 11 people were injured in the blast. Most of them have now been discharged from the hospitals. But one woman, Sarasamma, is still undergoing treatment. Doctors are monitoring her condition closely.
The blast took place at Chinnaiahnapalya Colony in Wilson Garden on Friday. It happened inside the house of Kasturamma. Because Wilson Garden is a densely populated working class area, where houses are built very close to each other, the impact was much worse. The explosion damaged several roofs of nearby homes and left families displaced. And sadly, this all happened during Independence Day celebrations, making the shock even harder for the people of the city to bear. After the tragedy, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah made an announcement. He said, The government will cover all medical treatment costs for the injured. Temporary shelters will be provided for the families whose homes have been damaged. And the government will take steps to rebuild the houses destroyed in the blast. On the legal side, police have registered a case against the LPG cylinder company. This came after Mubarak’s father filed a complaint, holding the firm responsible for the negligence that led to this deadly blast. The police are now investigating with multiple teams.

Three lives have been lost, Mubarak, just 10 years old, Kayal, only 8, and her mother, 30 year old Kasturamma. One woman, Sarasamma, is still in hospital. Others have been discharged but the pain and loss remain. The government has promised support, but the real question is how can such tragedies be prevented in the future?
