G. J. Vogler: 16 Variations on 'Ah, vous dirai-je, maman'. Henrik Berg, organ.

Описание к видео G. J. Vogler: 16 Variations on 'Ah, vous dirai-je, maman'. Henrik Berg, organ.

16 Variations on 'Ah, vous dirai-je, maman' by (Abbé) Georg Joseph Vogler (1749-1814), played on the 1783 Niclas (Nils) Söderström organ in Husby Church, Dala-Husby, Sweden. This instrument is one of the biggest 18th century organs still remaining in Sweden, and quite unique in that it was built by the organist of the church, who was an organ builder who unfortunately failed his organ builder exams. He built some organs anyway, but there are certainly some technical quirks to this instrument. The organ was left virtually unchanged to our days, and a new instrument was built by Åkerman & Lund on the loft underneath it in 1935, almost invisible.

Woxvirgina is normally spelled Vox Virginea and is a relative of the Vox humana, and typical for Swedish 18th century organs. Caret 2' is a flute, it was originally a vacant stop (caret means 'it lacks' in Latin) but was filled in with a flute in Söderström style at the last renovation.

Recorded on the 20th of August 2021.
