MegaSlam 60 at 10 feet, in-ground basketball hoop

This is a great hoop for the price. Purchased for $1500. We paid $500 for professional installation, and that was totally worth the money. This thing is HEAVY! So far, every kid in the neighborhood has been over to play on it. I just received information from the MegaSlam company relating to backboard height and the ability to slam/hang on the rim. They say the safety pin at the 7 1/2 foot height is not related to potential failure of the adjustment mechanism which would lead to the backboard dropping toward the ground. They didn’t clarify if it’s safe to hang on the rim at heights below 7.5 feet. In my opinion, the kids can hang on this thing at any height. For adults, I would not hang on the rim without the safety pin. Just my opinion. Perhaps MegaSlam has a different opinion, but I’m just playing safe.
UPDATE 4-19-2020: No issues. Performs perfectly. Little to no visible rust. My mother-in-law hit the main support with my SUV. Car lost. The hoop didn't budge. Best money that I've ever spent. Painted the key and three point line. Love it!
