Pacsafe Venturesafe 45L EXP45 Fatal Flaw? and Retrofit for additional storage.

Despite all the hype, this pack may have a fatal flaw. My thorough review reveals the pack's Achilles' Heel. It may dampen your enthusiasm for this pack, given it's hefty price tag. I can live with it - can you?

Based on my extensive hiking and travelling experience here are some of the pros and cons:

Pacsafe Venturesafe 45L EXP45 Pros:
This travel backpack's great for minimalist travel and it's anti-theft features should encourage pickpockets to look elsewhere! It's easily carried as a pack, or soft-sided suitcase and is ideal for packing minimalist. Hidden slashproof eXomesh, puncture resistant zips, Roobar locking system and stainless steel locking cable give added confidence.

It’s the perfect size for carry-on, hostels, hopping on and off trains and buses and negotiating underground stations and if you need a kip at the bus station or the airport you can secure your pack with peace of mind.

It's available in two color choices. Whilst many favor the black the blue will be easier to locate in a sea of luggage and probably less attractive to thieves, lol:)

Pacsafe Venturesafe 45L EXP45 Cons:
I bought this pack as an experienced hiker/traveller. I find this urban touring pack comfortable but felt it could benefit from load-lifters if it were overloaded, and you aren't used to wearing a backpack for extended periods. Tightening the sternum strap, the shoulder straps and the hip belt and it's fine. The hip belt is designed to take most the load so you'll be quite comfortable. But, for extended touring, with heavy loads, a technical hiking pack may be a better option.

The side grab handle is uncomfortable under heavy loads.
