Reviving the Lost Art of Direct and Explicit Instruction

Описание к видео Reviving the Lost Art of Direct and Explicit Instruction

Direct and explicit instruction—in which teachers lead their classes with clear, explicit explanations or demonstrations—may seem old-fashioned and boring to some educators compared with pedagogies such as student inquiry or project-based learning. But Zach Groshell, an instructional coach and a prominent voice in the debate, argues that direct instruction is effective and rooted in the beliefs that every child can learn and any teacher can succeed with an effective curriculum and solid delivery techniques.

In this webinar, Dr. Groshell will present on direct instruction and join a panel with education consultant Patrice M. Bain, Kurt Engelmann of the National Institute for Direct Instruction, and AEI’s Robert Pondiscio.
