Easy SUV Camping Set Up for a Short Trip

Here's an idea of setting up your SUV or vehicle if you just need to sleep in your vehicle for a night or two.

On this day I wasn't even sure I would find a camping spot as it was a busy weekend eve, so I didn't want to bring my whole set up. Plus I was out hiking all day, I really only needed the bare minimum for sleeping and just to have a coffee in the morning.

Try not to over think your set up, even for longer hauls. If your seats fold down flat and you can fill any empty spaces with things around your home or stuff your bringing with you anyway then do that. There isn't a need for making a fancy build in the back of your vehicle.

It's only when you're planning to go for longer trips and / or you don't have the option to lay seats down flat that you need to think more about removing back seats and adding a platform build.

I drive a 2010 Ford Escape and the seats do fold down flat once I take the bottom seats out.

This video is perfect for people who may just need to sleep in their vehicle at a trail head for an early hike start or just doing a quick weekend camp where you don't need all the things people would normally have for a camping trip where you're spending more time at the actual camp site.
