The challenges presented by software-defined mobility are extremely diverse and comprise both technical aspects and cultural matters such as collaboration and leadership. At Bosch Mobility, we have embraced this new form of cooperation and adopted a holistic view of software and services that encompasses all disciplines and stakeholders.

Traditional values such as pure engine power or optimum interplay of the various vehicle components are becoming less and less important as distinguishing features in tomorrow’s world of mobility. Instead, automotive manufacturers and suppliers are increasingly required to offer connected, overarching functions and services that are governed by software.

However, the mobility transformation also requires us to enhance and refine our forms of collaboration, both internally and externally. We have therefore embraced the cultural concept of “aligned autonomy” – that is, the alignment of various players towards a common goal in order to facilitate more efficient value creation within the ecosystem.

If we want to successfully master the transition to software-defined mobility, it is imperative that we combine both software and services to form an unbeatable team.
