🪷 Visiting the oldest monastery in Ladakh ft. jewellery shopping ✨

On my fourth day in Ladakh, I visited Alchi monastery near Leh.

My best friend and I first stopped at Sangam, a beautiful riverside where the Indus and Zanskar Rivers meet in two different colours of water. It is a popular tourist destination for many Indians and Koreans who visit Ladakh.

Next we arrived at Alchi, but the monastery was closed for an hour. We spent this time at Alchi Kitchen, an all-women run restaurant serving vegetarian Ladakhi food.

On our way to the monastery, we looked around the jewellery to buy earrings and bracelets. I'm a big fan of turquoise, so it was a fun shopping experience.

Although I haven't shown the inside of Alchi monastery since filming isn't allowed inside, I was mesmerised by the wall paintings that is one of the oldest paintings in Ladakh. It is definitely worth a visit for history lovers!
